Family Summer Events!

Take and Make Crafts, week of June 1st & 7th: While materials last, Guthrie Public Library will provide Take and Make weekly craft bags. Each bag contains instructions, age appropriate content, and all this is yours to keep. Craft bags are available for drive up or distribution (with physical distancing) for children 12 and under. After attaining and completing your cool project, use our social media tag #GuthriePublicLibraryRocks with a picture or video of your completed craft! Questions? Thursday, June 3rd, 10th, 17th, & 24th from 3:30 – 5PM Learning to Loom, Hat Making for SWAK: Learn a new skill while helping kids in our community. Every Halloween SWAK passes hats during the trick or treat walk, let’s help them make some!

Tuesday, June 8th from 11AM—12PM Intro to Snakes!:With participation from the audience, a discussion of the various species of snakes, their anatomy and physiology; how to identify venomous snakes in Oklahoma; precautions in the field; what to do and not to do if someone receives a bite; the large constrictors and what are some of the species that makes good pets. In addition answering questions from the audience during the program . Please RSVP

Spray Paint Snakes, Monday June 14th & Friday June 18th from 10AM—12PM: Weather Permitting, Join us outside while we make stylish snakes using different spray paint techniques.

Extreme Animals, Tuesday June 15th from 10AM—11AM, 11:15AM—12:15PM, & 12:30PM—1:30PM, Seating is Limited, MUST RSVP for this Event: Professional wildlife educators/handlers will bring a hands-on experience that is exhilarating, fun, educational, and informative. Animals can’t wait to show off their wildly cool traits while interacting and amazing everyone with their adventurous antics!

Rock Painting, Monday, June 28th from 10—11AM, 11AM—12PM, 12—1PM, 1—2PM, & 2—3PM, Seating is Limited, MUST RSVP for this Event: Decorate festive river rocks to hide around town as a part of Guthrie Rocks!
