Family Summer Events!

Monday July 1st from 9—10:30AM, and Monday July 15th from 4—5PM,  Pokémon Go Group: We will meet at the Guthrie Public Library and then venture out into the world together tracking Pokémon. Bring your cards to battle and trade if you wish.

Monday July 1st from 1– 3 PM, Recipe for a Moon: The Moon is made of cheese… no! Rice Krispies treats! Children discover that the Moon, like Earth, is made up of layers of different materials through this activity. They work to make models of the interiors of the Moon . Common food items are used to construct the cores, mantles, and crusts.

Tuesday, July 2nd, 16th & 30th from 1-2 PM & Thursday, July 11th & 25th from 3:30 – 5:00 PM . Lego Club: Create, Build, Learn, and have Fun! RSVP for this event. All Ages are Welcome. Please keep your Legos at home unless you wish to make a donation to the Guthrie Library.

Wednesday July 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st at 10:30 AM. Zumbini: Designed for kids ages 0-5 and their caregivers, Zumbini combines music, dance and educational tools for 45-minutes of can’t-stop, won’t-stop bonding and fun.  Please RSVP for this event.

Monday July 8th from 1– 3 PM, Galaxy Bottles: Capture a part of the Universe in this quick and easy craft project.

Monday July 15th from 1– 3 PM, Moon Craters Experiment: This is an activity about impact craters. Learners will experiment to create impact craters and examine the associated features.

Tuesday July 16th from 5– 7 PM, Art and the Cosmic Connection: Create your own fantastic universe using an artistic spray painting technique. (Dress in painting clothes, spray paint may stain!)

Wednesday July 17th from 12—1:30 PM, Robot Hands: Learn how to make simple functioning Robot hands.

Friday July 19th from 12– 2 PM, Foam Rockets: 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF with this fun and easy rocket craft.

Saturday July 20th from 10:30– 1 PM, Apollo 11’s 50th Anniversary and Expedition 60 Launch Party!: Celebration the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon walk join us for light refreshments and STEM Activities.
